Batman: no man’s land by Greg Rucka. Because I too am eagerly looking forward to the final part of the Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises!

Batman: No Man's Land

Born in Darknessby Suzanne Brockmann. Suzanne Brockmann is one of my regulars and this marks the beginning of a new series!

Born to Darkness

Death or Glory: the legacy of the Crimean War by Robert B. Edgerton. I’m halfway through this interesting if somewhat horrific read! More about it at a later time.

Death or Glory: The Legacy of the Crimean War

The Brothers Bloom(2009, with Adrien Bordy, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel Weisz) a convoluted, humouroous, indie con movie, with pretty landscapes and costumes. More Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulainthan The Italian Job.

Les Frères Bloom / The Brothers Bloom

Night Fall by Anne Stuart. Few other romance authors I read are capable of weaving the same level of suspense and romantic interest than Anne Stuart, except perhaps Sandra Brown. However I prefer Anne Stuart’s writing style.

Easy Virtue, this movie with big names such as Colin Firth, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jessica Biel (she did alright in this one) is a mixture between a toned-down musical and a between-the-two world-wars look at country English aristocracy. A good companion to this would be To marry an heiressby Lorraine Heath, for the subtle invasion of Americans. The soundtrack to the movie is my next stop.

The Dark Knight Rises: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack because, until I can get my hands on the dvd of the movie (4-6 months from now) this is how I will remember the movie!

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang(2005, with Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer). For me, this movie, sarcastically narrated by Robert Downey Jr,. as he can do so well, is an interesting mix between the murderous intrigue of LA. Confidentialand the outrageous humour of Tropic Thunder.

Mambo Italiano(2003). Another fun Québecer production using English-Canadian (Mary Walsh from This hour has 22 minutes), Québecer (Sophie Lorain from Maman Last Call and famous singer Ginette Reno) and American actors (Paul Sorvino). This unique point of view into the Montréal-Italian community reminds me rather of My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Justiceby Karen Robards. The main reason why I picked up this book was because of the setting: Washington D.C. My appreciation of the town has increased since I was fortunate to participate in a tour of some its major libraries, museums and archival institutions, however my admiration really stems from Aaron Sorkin’s The West Wing. Although no politicians are directly involved in the plot, secret service agents and lawyers, who, let’s face it,  are the majority of the United State’s political population, abound. This tale is moderately suspenseful with a touch of paranormal, which I have come to expect from some of Karen Robards earlier works.
